FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: essence of this method resides in carrying out clinical examination of patients, measuring content of triglypherides and total amount of cholesterol, alpha-cholesterol and beta-cholesterol, determining sex and age of patients, and calculating prognostication coefficients F1 and F2 for males and females using following equations: , respectively, where numerals represent constants of discriminant equations and discriminant coefficients, a1 is concentration of triglypherides (mg%), a2 stands for total content of cholesterol (mg%), a3 denotes concentration of alpha-cholesterol (mg% ), a4 denotes concentration of beta-cholesterol (mg%), and a5 represents patient's age (years). If F2>F1, discirculatory encephalopathy should be prognosticated in practically healthy persons up to 60 years of age. Disclosed method permits prognosticating discirculatory encephalopathy in males to accuracy of 83.3 % and females to accuracy of 88.2 %. Revelation of so-called "menacing" forms of discirculatory encephalopathy allows active prevention of clinical manifestations of disease. EFFECT: higher accuracy of prognostication of discirculatory encephalopathy in practically sound youths and persons of medium age. 1 tbl
