FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: liquid metal from casting ladle is fed into vacuum chamber in the process of continuous casting. Residual pressure is created in the vacuum chamber. The metal is fed into intermediate ladle through a separate pipe branch and then into crystallizers. Once metal level has risen in the intermediate ladle over loser ends of the pipe branches, and the vacuum chamber has sealed by liquid metal, circulating evacuation of the metal in intermediate ladle is carried out through inert gas feed in a pipe branch. Once preset residual pressure has been set in the vacuum chamber, metal working in the vacuum chamber is performed concurrently with circulating evacuation in the intermediate ladle.
