FIELD: metal working; milling. SUBSTANCE: method involves extruding separate sheets with an auger extruder to produce a laminate strip with its following cutting on a milling-and-cutting-off machine. Before cutting the strip to make separate sheets of various widths, its margins are sawn off. The strip is cut by creating supporting overpressure acting in the direction of mill teeth kerf edges with concurrent action on the cut edge. Device for carrying out the cutting method has unreeling units with drums set in series, a double belt press, a cross cutting devices. The cross-cutting device is made in the form of a milling-and-cutting- off machine with numerical program control. Its milling head is connected with carriages moveably mounted in the guides of the machine to move across and along the strip as well as in vertical direction. The head is provided with a side support means supporting both sides of the cutting mill, which clamping members are turned to the strip with their narrow surface.
