FIELD: civil engineering; construction of bridges. SUBSTANCE: in crossing a stream flow, a road has an embankment with slopes, having two tiers, the lower of which is built on the frozen ground core and an artificial (man-made) structure, having a foundation disposed within the boundaries of the embankment. The upper surface of the lower tier has the form of a platform, which is convex in plan. Mean distance from the foundation center to the platform boundary is calculated from a formula. EFFECT: enhanced reliability and long term usability under permafrost conditions of the structure. 10 dwg
