FIELD: automotive industry. SUBSTANCE: tubular gas generator 1 for inflatable safety cushion has outer tube 2 with gas discharge holes 3, inner tube 4 to take in gas-forming material arranged coaxially in outer tube 2 and forming circular clearance 6 to receive filtering-and-cooling insert; generator has also at least one firing arrangement 9, shutoff covers 11 for connecting outer tube 2 and inner tube 4 at both ends of gas generator, and circular groove to secure outer tube 2 in shutoff cover 11. Circular groove 21 is made in each shutoff cover 11 to receive inward-pointed mainly V-shaped projections 20 made by deformation on end section of outer tube. Outer tube 2 embraces shutoff covers 4 at least partially, from sides. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 2 cl, 3 dwg
