FIELD: automotive industry. SUBSTANCE: housing of the gas generator is open from the both sides, has the space provided with the combustion chamber for receiving the gas generating material. The chamber has the outlet opening. The housing is provided with a facility for receiving at least one filtering member. At least one outlet opening is made in the housing. The opening is connected with the outlet opening of the combustion chamber. The housing is also provided with valving members for closing the faces. The gas generator is constructed as a hollow part made of aluminum or aluminum alloy. The facility for receiving at least one filtering member is made up as opposite fastening parts made in block with the hollow part. The filtering member can be mounted between these parts and are axially alined. EFFECT: improved design. 3 cl, 6 dwg
