FIELD: ignition of powder charges. SUBSTANCE: charge pad has a case-like body with a bottom having a hole with an adjacent section used to receive the igniter plate initiated by hot gas fed through the hole, and a section used to receive powder charge ignited by the igniter plate; the pad has a burning chamber for swirling of fragments of the igniter plate with hot gas and for burning of ignitor plate located between the section receiving the igniter plate and section receiving the powder charge. The device for adiabatic ignition of powder charge has a body with a compression chamber, piston for movement in the compression chamber and intended for compression of gas in the compression chamber, the charge pad is located in the body inlet chamber and has a case-like body with a bottom with a hole, section receiving the powder charge and section for receiving the igniter plate; the inlet chamber through a connecting hole, used to feed compressed hot gas, communicates with the compression chamber; in addition, the pad has a burning chamber for swirling of fragments of the igniter plate with hot gas and for burning of igniter plate located between the section for receiving the igniter plate and section receiving the powder charge.
