FIELD: water cleaning. SUBSTANCE: filter for water cleaning has a carrier made of water permeable material. The material is not toxic to microorganisms, and is insensitive to temperature ranged within - 15 to + 65 C The material is hardly susceptible to biological degradation and is preliminary impregnated with gamma-negative bacteria producing EXO-polysaccharides able to be reactivated. Strains ATSS 25935, ATSS 23203 NCl B 10340, 10541, 112164, NCl1b40121 are used as gamma-negative bacteria producing EXO-polysaccharides. Hard or compressible porous material, cellulose foam are used as water permeable material with 20 mk diameter of pores and 70 per cent porosity. Preferably, water permeable mat comprising coconut palm fibers, textile or non-textile material is used as water permeable material. The filter is dried by cooling. Water permeable material may contain gravel, stainless steel grid, sintered glass, vermiculite, perlite or filings of hard wood. EFFECT: highly efficient filter. 9 cl, 4 dwg
