FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: product: arylsubstituted ester of propionic acid of the formula (I) where R and R - C1-C4-linear or branched alkyl; R - hydrogen or C1-C4-linear or branched alkyl; R - C1-C4-linear or branched alkyl which can be similar or different each of other. Purity is 96-97%, conversion is 96%. Reagent 1: spatially difficult phenol, for example, 2,6-di-tert.-butylphenol. Reagent 2: acrylate, for example, methylacrylate. Reaction conditions: in the presence of basic catalyst taken at concentration 15-30 mol.% per 1 mole phenol, in the presence of chelating agent taken at concentration 30-65 mol.% per 1 mole phenol, at 110-200 C. Phenol is reacted with catalyst, then at least 95% by-side products were removed, and then all or almost all acrylate is added. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis. 7 cl
