FIELD: geography; environment control; maps application. SUBSTANCE: method involves using N>1 maps of a territory under control corresponding to the same time period and having the same scale. Each map has a set of contour lines representing territorial distribution of a given natural environment component of corresponding natural resource. Correspondingly related and interdependent sets of contour lines belonging to the maps under use are superimposed one over another and closed areas are selected having no internal boundaries. Environment component parameters and natural resource parameters are to be identified within the boundaries of each of such areas. Areas of the same type are united in groups, so that each group has the areas having given level of similarity with respect to the parameters. The resulting picture is recorded together with the corresponding parametric data.
