FIELD: welding. SUBSTANCE: device has housing 1, reduction gear 2, electric motor 3, and electromagnetic braking clutch 4 set on shaft 5. Output shaft 6 of reduction gear 2 is provided with gear 7 which engages gear rack 8. Rack 8 is hollow, has longitudinal passage 9, and is set in guide of housing 1. The welding tool (welding-tip) is secured to one of the end face of rack 8. Permanent magnet 13, which interacts with magnetically controlled contacts when gear 7 is in rotation, is secured to gear 7. One of the contacts is fixed to housing 1, and the other contact is fixedly mounted with respect to the housing and connected with pointer 16. Scale 17 is arranged on housing 1.
