FIELD: thermoplastic materials processing. SUBSTANCE: method provides for extrusion of melt, moving extrudate moulding and cooling with braking. Braking is exercised as extrudate surface achieves temperature by 80 - 100 C below the temperature of glass transition of amorphous polymers or temperature of crystallization for crystallizing polymers. In the case, speed of cooling is chosen in limits of 0.4 - 1 deg./min. EFFECT: method provides decrease of buckling, decrease of anisotropy of physical-mechanical properties along cross-section and increase of impact strength of pieces. 2 tbl
