FIELD: recovery of diamonds. SUBSTANCE: method for treatment of diamond-graphite material includes treatment of initial material with reagent to form mixture of compound for insertion in graphite and diamond, heating of produced mixture up to 600-800 C at heating rate of 50-500 C/s to transfer insertion compound into expanded graphite and then, diamond and expanded graphite are separated in water flow at linear velocity of 0.1-0.5 m/min with flow rate of 100-500 mas.p. of water per mas.p. of treated mixture. In this event, water flow direction is opposite to gravity. Reagent is used in form of mixture of potassium bichromate with sulfuric acid or ammonium persulfate with sulfuric acid, or potassium nitrate with sulfuric acid.
