FIELD: recovery of diamonds. SUBSTANCE: method for processing of diamond-graphite material includes treatment of initial material with reagent to form insertion compound in graphite mixed with diamond, and produced mixture is separated, first, in flow of gas when mixture is heated up to 600-1000 C with mixture heating rate of 50-500 C/s and then, diamond and expanded graphite are separated in gas flow whose cross-section exceeds that in first gas flow by 10-30 times. Reagent is used in form of mixture of potassium bichromate with sulfuric acid or ammonium persulfate with sulfuric acid. Gas flow is in form of air or nitrogen. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl, 1 tbl
