FIELD: carbon-graphite materials production. SUBSTANCE: flexible graphitic foil has thickness 0.100 mm and more, density 0.5 1,4 g/cm3 and is made of pressed and expanded in direction of crystallographic axis "c" of graphitic particles with form factor 3 - 5 and with size of crystallites along "c" axis, that does not exceed 250 . Method provides for chemical treatment of natural graphite powder by solution of sulfuric acid with oxidizer of oxidizing-reducing potential of solution 1.10 1.80 V (gas-shaped ozone, chlorine, sulfur oxide (6+) or ammonium persulfate are used as oxidizer) hydrolysis, washing, drying and thermal treatment of oxidized graphite under temperature of no less than 700 C in chamber of heating during its spraying in stream of heated gas-carrier with following feeding of the stream in chamber of vacuum space with diameter, exceeding diameter of heating chamber 10 20 times as much, following rolling of expanded particles graphite layer, carried out under specific pressure 0.5 3.0 MPa, with interim roasting and second rolling, carried out under specific pressure 5.0 20.0 MPa. EFFECT: flexible graphite foil and method of its production is used in chemical industry, metallurgy and other industries. 4 cl, 1 dwg, 2 tbl
