FIELD: methods for production of crystalline sodium silicate. SUBSTANCE: solution of water glass is treated in zone of spray drying with the aid of not air and temperature of 200-300 C to form powdery amorphous sodium silicate with moisture content (determined as losses in calcination at temperature of 700 C) from 15 to 23 mas. %. Powdery amorphous moisture-containing sodium silicate, first, is ground (preferably, up to grain sizes of 1-50 mcm) prior to changing into inclined rotary tubular furnace. Ground sodium silicate is treated in this furnace with countercurrent flue gases at temperature of 500-850 C to form crystalline sodium silicate. Sodium silicate discharged from rotary tubular furnace is ground first to grain sizes from 0.1 to 12 mm, and then, up to grain sizes from 2 to 400 mcm. EFFECT: higher efficiency.
