FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method involves interaction of 3,5-di-tert. -butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl acetate with mesitylene at heating (preferably at 25-70 C) in the medium of acetic acid in the presence of catalyst - perchloric acid at concentration 0.05-0.1 mole per 1 mole mesitylene. Precipitate of the end product is filtered off, washed with acetic acid and water and dried. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis. 3 cl
