FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: lining is made of refractory blocks. 1/7-1/6 of furnace length counting from its discharge end consists of a monolithic concrete ring with rectangular projections whose width is equal to that of the block and whose length is equal to 1/3-1/2 of the block length. Then 1/3-1/2 of the furnace length is made of blocks based on metallic chromium slag, and the remaining part, from blocks based on ferrochromium slag including the two last rings made from the blocks reinforced with metal plates.
