FIELD: use of refractory materials in metallurgy; methods of lining arches of electric arc furnaces. SUBSTANCE: first layer of lining is rammed with mixture consisting of corundum sludge, 25-40%; fire-clay, 5%; waste graphite, 1-2%; phosphate binder, 4-8% corundum, the balance. Thickness of layer with porosity of ramming 15-20% is equal to 1/2-3/4 of height of lining. Then second layer is rammed. It consists of corundum sludge, 20-25%; fireclay, 5%; phosphate binder, 5-10%; corundum, the balance, at porosity of ramming of 20-25%. During heating, silicon ferroalloy is added to surface of melt in area of arcs. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 1 tbl
