FIELD: continuous casting of metal. SUBSTANCE: Method involves supplying molten metal from pouring ladle into evacuator; vacuumizing till residual pressure of value allowed by process requirements is reached; supplying metal to intermediate ladle through branch pipe and further to crystallizers; withdrawing ingots from crystallizers; increasing pressure in evacuator at the end of process of emptying pouring ladle; reducing metal level in evacuator and setting metal meniscus in branch pipe within the range of 0.5-1.0 of its height from lower end.
