FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: bottom carbon blocks with blooms are placed on base, and interblock seams are filled by layers. In so doing, one of intermediate layers includes mixture of titanium boride, titanium and binder whose thickness equals 0.1 of block height and located at the level of 0.25-10 of this height from upper base. Bottom is fired at heating rate of 50-100 C/h up to temperature of 600 C and further on up to 1000 C to attain full synthesis of mixture components of intermediate layer. Introduced into composition of mixture may be aluminium nitride and bakelite as binder. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 5 cl, 2 dwg
