FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: device to take reading in goniometer has dial, reading microscope and projection systems composed of two lenses and two rectangular prisms placed on opposite sides of dial. Projection systems in this case are located along chord of pitch circle coupling sections of dial positioned in vertexes of regular n-sided polygons. Total number of projection systems is by one unit smaller than number of sides of n-sided polygon with n greater or smaller than 4. Apart from this one of projection systems can have following design additions: focuses of lenses are matched with diaphragm arranged between them and element inverting image and unit of summing up light fluxes are inserted.
