FIELD: instrumentation. SUBSTANCE: conical identor is forced n times into backing from side of coat till coat is destructed. Sums of areas of deformed and peeled off coat are found. Then coat and backing are treated with hydrogen. Sum of areas of peeled off coat is determined anew. Index of adhesion resistance of reinforcement coats to hydrogen wear is determined by formula given in description of invention. Proposed process makes it possible to optimize modes of coating and properties of layers of titanium nitride and to make coat more resistant to atmosphere of gaseous hydrogen for period of its use. EFFECT: capability for quantitative and visual evaluation of adhesion resistance of coats. 2 dwg
