FIELD: aeronautical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device for performing flapping flight and conventional flight is just and ornithopter which has fuselage 1, two pairs of lifting planes 3 having aerofoil profile which are mounted on rocker arms 8 for rotation about common horizontal axis, symmetrically and in parallel relative to it, about axes of their lifting rods 5 with gear wheel fitted at end of each rod and for synchronous rotation for control of flight; device is also provided with four gear wheels articulated in fuselage 1 coaxially relative to the common axis of rotation for rotation at control action in performing synchronous rotation of lifting planes 3 and gear wheel connection mechanism. Diameter of four gear wheels is equal to diameter of gears wheels of lifting rods 5. Common horizontal axis is perpendicular to axis of fuselage 1 and is parallel to axes of lifting rods 5; common horizontal axis lies in one plane with these axes. Each lifting rod 5 is rigidly connected with its lifting plane 3 and passes through its CG. Device is provided with tail unit 13 on which propeller 14 or controllable-thrust jet engine is mounted, rods 4 which connect lifting rods 5 in pairs and are perpendicular to them; they are mounted for rotation at ends which are located at maximum distance from fuselage 1; axes of symmetry of rods pass through common axis of rotation of lifting planes 3; for connecting the gear wheels, use is made of chain drive. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 2 cl, 2 dwg
