FIELD: veterinary medicine; biology. SUBSTANCE: method involves analyzing activity characteristics in two blood smears, denoted as NPA1 and NPA2 where NPA1 shows the phagocytosis level determined after the blood sample having been placed on a microscope slide, incubated at 37 C in humid chamber, overlaid with phagocytosis objects suspension over the plasmatic layer containing neutrophils and the reacting components having been intermixed after repeated incubation to produce a smear, and NPA2 shows the phagocytosis level determined after blood and phagocytosis objects suspension having been placed into a test tube, incubated at 37 C under periodical shaking resulting in smear preparation. The method is tested on pigs possessing deficient phagocytic activity combined with inflammatory processes in internals. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in studying nonspecific resistance of animal organisms in immune deficiency states. 2 tbl
