MOTOR-IN-WHEEL Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

Abstract RU 2038984 C1

FIELD: transport. SUBSTANCE: motor-in-wheel has rim, axle and electric drive consisting of variable-voltage source and electric motor. Armature with magnetic circuit and at least two groups of electromagnets is secured on axle; inductor with magnetic circuit and permanent magnets is secured on rim and distributing commutator formed by plates arranged over circumference is secured on armature; current collectors with brushes are secured on inductor, and introduced additionally are at least one distributing commutator similar to main commutator, additional current collector secured on inductor and armature contact located on armature. Voltage from variable voltage source is supplied through distributing commutators to groups of electromagnets interacting in turn with permanent magnets. Motor-in-wheel is available in series of design versions and can be used for creating environmentally-oriented reliable and economical vehicles. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 11 cl, 5 dwg
