FIELD: production of polymers. SUBSTANCE: recovery and removal of 1,3-dioxolane from aqueous solutions resulting from reaction of ethylene glycol with formaldehyde ( trioxane, paraform, formalin). The alkali washing stage is not employed in the process of drying 1,3-dioxolane, an azeotropic 1,3-dioxolane-water mixture is separated by extractive rectification using ethylene glycol as the extracting agent. The yield 98-98.5. The energy consumption intended for obtaining cleaned 1,3-dioxolane is reduced by 23-35. EFFECT: improved yield, simplified process and improved process ecology. 4 dwg, 3 tbl
