FIELD: chemistry of polymers, more particularly preparation of comonomers as solvents and as component of anhydrous polymeric electrolytes of lithium current sources. SUBSTANCE: method comprises dehydrating corresponding glycols with catalysts during catalysis. In order to increase yield of alkyl substituted 1,3- dioxolanes, process is carried out continuously and stages of synthesis and rectification (distillation) are combined. Catalyst is concentrated sulfuric acid, and its concentration must be within 0.1-2 wt %. Method makes it possible to increase yield of 2-methyl,-1,3- dioxolane to 40%, and yield of 2-ethyl-4-methyl-1,3- dioxolane, up to 97-98%. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method. 4 ex
