FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: wear-resistant cast iron contains carbon, manganese, silicium and iron and is further alloyed with niobium, copper, calcium and cerium. Ratio of components, by weight: C 3.1-4.5; Mn 4.8; Si 0.5-1; Nb 2-5; Cu 1-2; Ca 0.01-0.05; Ce 0.01-0.05. Wear-resistant cast iron has for the most austenite metal base and carbides of (Fe, Mn) (Fe, Mn)3C C and NbC-type in cast and thermally treated state. Impact-abrasive wear-resistance is mainly achieved by obtaining increased-rigidity niobium carbides, preferably of spherical shape, disposed in metastable matrix. In the process of wear, austenite undergoes transformation into martensite in surface layer of parts. Such transformation is followed by emission of excessive dispersed carbides, which provides for further in wear-resistance. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of parts made from this metal. 1 tbl
