FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: in the as-cast state the cast iron contains carbon, chromium, manganese, copper, silicon and iron, is additionally alloyed with cerium and calcium and has a martensitic-austenitic base and carbides Cr3C2, (Cr,Fe)7C3, (Cr,Fe)3C. The metastable austenite subjected to impact-abrasive action of shot in operation is transformed in the surface layer into martensite and releases carbides which ensures additional self-hardening of working surface and improves impact-abrasive wear resistance of parts. EFFECT: higher impact-abrasive wear resistance, longer service life of parts made from this cast iron and subjected to impact-abrasive wear. 1 tbl
