FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: wear- resistant cast iron contains carbon, chromium, manganese, silicium, copper and iron and is further alloyed with cerium and calcium. In cast state wear-resistant iron has martensite-austenite base and carbides Fe3C2, Cr7C3, (Fe, Cr)3C,. When subject to impact-abrasive action, surface layer of metastable austenite undergoes phase transformation to provide for further self-strengthening of working surface and increases impact- abrasive wear-resistance. EFFECT: increased service life of parts manufactured from such cast iron and adapted for working under increased impact-abrasive wear conditions. 1 tbl
