FIELD: optical radiation sources. SUBSTANCE: metal-halide lamp has torch made of optically transparent material with sealed electrodes filled with inert gas and dopes providing torch with halides of radiating metals. Used as mentioned dopes are those providing torch with halides of zinc and of at least one of alkali metals in quantity of 0.2 to 13.0 and 0.1 to 20.0 mcm. mol/cu. cm; inert gas pressure is 1.33 to 40.0 kPa. Introduced in lamp torch in addition are indium halides in quantity of 0.15 to 6.0 mcm.mol/cu. cm, thallium halides in quantity of 0.1 to 4.0 mcm.mol/cu.cm, and also dopes providing it with halides of metals of Mendeleyev's classification group VIII, as well as lithium halides in quantity of 0.5 to 10.0 mcm.mol/cu.cm. EFFECT: improved design. 7 cl, 1 tbl
