FIELD: lighting engineering; metal-halide lamps. SUBSTANCE: metal-halide lamp has envelope made of optically transparent material with hermetically installed electrodes. Envelope is filled with inert gas with additions to provide radiating metal halides. Introduced additionally into envelope is at least one of additions to provide it with buffer metal halides in amounts stated below; inert gas pressure in envelope is from 1.33 to 39.9 kPa. Used are additions to provide envelope with antimony halides in amount from 0.1 to 10.0 mcmol/cm3,, bismuth halides in amount from 0.2 to 20.0 mcmol/cm3 zinc halides in amount from 0.3 to 25.0 mol/cm3 and tin halides in amount from 0.1 to 15.0 mcmol/cm3.. EFFECT: enhanced quality of operation. 6 cl, 2 tbl
