FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: metal halide lamp has envelope made of optically transparent material with hermetically fitted in electrodes. Envelope is filled with inert gas and radiating metal halides. Used in lamp filling are additions to provide envelope with copper halide in amount of 0.2-4.0 mcmol/cm3 at inert gas pressure of 26.6-200 kPa. Additionally added to lamp filling are additions to provide envelope with titanium halides in amount of 0.1-3.0 mcmol/cm3 and additions to provide envelope with antimony halides in amount of 0.15-6.0 mcmol/cm3. EFFECT: increased radiation in range of wavelengths of 100-315 nm. 3 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl
