FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves irradiating tissue with optic radiation at two wave lengths in the red and infrared range and recording diffusely scattered radiation values at predefined distances from the probing radiation application point. Diffusely scattered radiation is measured in the points lying on the same side relative to the probing radiation application point all belonging to the same straight line segment. The distance from the application point to the nearest measurement point is not to be less than 10 light radiation free path transporting lengths in the tissue, the interval between two measurement points is not to be greater than 0.1 of the above mentioned distance. The device for implementing the method is also described. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy in measuring oxygen contents in blood in non- invasive way. 3 cl, 2 dwg
