FIELD: foundry engineering. SUBSTANCE: liquid metal is fed into flat crystallizer. Slab is deformed and drawn out of crystallizer with varying speed. Slab is reduced in solid-liquid state and rolled for sheet. Rolled sheet is measured and in case its thickness deflects from preset value, slab thickness is changed according to given function.
