FIELD: foundry engineering. SUBSTANCE: liquid metal is fed into a gap between driving drum, rims and rim-rounding belt. Slab is formed in a gap in radial direction and reduced in solid-liquid state by means of replacing drum regarding the belt. When drawing slab thickness changes metal meniscus level is changed in conformity with replacement of diameter horizontal plane of drum. In this case metal meniscus level deflects from drum diameter horizontal plane to ± 0,05...0,1 of slab thickness on metal meniscus. EFFECT: improved quality. 2 dwg, 1 tbl
