FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: reagent 1: methanol. Reagent 2: hydrogen chloride. Process is carried out under pressure 1-3 atm followed by separation of spent reaction mixture in two fractionating columns, recovery of distillate from the first column to reactor and washing synthesized methyl chloride with part of vat liquid from the first column. Synthesis is carried out by two stages. Parental methanol and distillate from the first column were distributed by stages. Molar ratio methanol hydrogen chloride at the first stage is maintained (0.3-0.5):1, and at the second stage (0.6-1.0): 1. Hydrogen chloride at the second stage is processed up to the final concentration below azeotropic point. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis. 1 dwg
