FIELD: as perfumes. SUBSTANCE: reagent 1: sodium nitrite. Reagent 2: an appropriate amine (o-anisidine, o-phenetidine). Reaction conditions: reagent 1 is treated with reagent 2 in the presence of sulfuric acid followed by decomposition of the diazonium salt thus formed in a copper sulfate to diazocompound salt molar ratio of 0.5- 10 to 1 in the presence of a solvent at the boiling temperature in a reactor which includes a mixing zone and a sedimentation zone; water and a spent copper sulfate are added as an azeotrope simultaneously with the decomposition process from the mixing zone, and an extract of the desired product from the sedimentation, the copper sulfate to diazocompound salt molar ratio being maintained at 0.2-0.5 to 1 at the reactor inlet and outlet.
