FIELD: machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of making metallic band in a rolling mill by passing an electric current through rolling rolls across a blank, being rolled, the blank had been heated before the rolling operation at forward motion of it by longitudinal electric current up to temperature 200-500 C; performing heating of the blank by passing the electric current across it by 200-400 C higher, than the above mentioned temperature value; subjecting the blank to different-direction vibration along its whole length. A mill for performing the method includes a front and rear coilers, an apparatus for preliminary heating, a transformer, connected with current supply buses, and a rolling stand with rolling rolls. A structure of the stand is enhanced by ameliorated construction of a mechanism for transmitting electric power from the current supply buses to the rolling rolls and by using of the apparatus for subjecting the blank to different-sign vibration. EFFECT: enhanced structure of the mill, enlarged using range of the method. 4 cl, 3 dwg
