FIELD: superconductors. SUBSTANCE: method involves production of silver-containing alloys for oxide superconductors characterized in that they contain reduced quantities of intermetallides. The powders containing metallic components of oxide superconductor are subjected to highly intensive grinding for a preset period of time with a view to increase homogeneity of mixed metallic components of the oxide superconductor. Then silver is mixed with metallic components and the resulting mixture of the oxide superconductor is pressed to produce a silver-containing source material for the superconductor. The pressed powder is preferably treated hot at a temperature equal to at least 50% of the melting temperature (Kelvin degrees) of the alloy of the superconductor source material. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 5 tbl
