FIELD: wire insulation technology. SUBSTANCE: method involves covering long metal medium with organometallic mixture of yttrium, barium, and copper carboxylate salts with carbon atomic number in chemical formula of carboxylate between 11 and 19 prior to placing it in heating zone while displacing medium at constant speed and subjecting it to heat treatment; in the process, organometallic mixture is applied by wetting medium with mixture and subjecting it to heat treatment in several steps, first at temperature gradient of 350-600 C in air or argon environment and then in air environment at temperatures ranging between 905 and 1050 C for time required to form superconducting barium or yttrium phase of desired composition followed by cooling down in oxygen environment at temperatures ranging between 800 and 150 C for time sufficient to ensure oxygen stoichiometry. EFFECT: improved uniformity of composition and thickness of coating.
