FIELD: electromechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: vertical-shaft hydraulic-turbine generator has stator 1 mounting top bracket 2 with thrust bearing 3 and bearing 4 built in its central part, rotor 6 whose shaft 5 mounts slip rings 7 above top bracket 2 with spider 8 carrying them and incorporating hub 9 with disk 10 welded to it, bottom bracket 16, and brake mechanism in the form of separate braking jacks 13 of piston type. Braking jacks 13 are mounted and fixed in position on top bracket 2 under spider 8 of slip rings 7 with clearance 15 between disk 10 of spider 8 and braking jacks 13 that is smaller than piston stroke length. Disk 10 of spider 8 of slip rings 7 has diametral dimension smaller than or equal to diametral clearance between braking jacks 13 and center line of rotor; its bottom surface is finished and functions as friction surface for braking jacks 13 during rotor braking and as supporting surface during its lifting. Detachable screw mounts 17 are installed on bottom bracket 16 under rotor 6. EFFECT: reduced size and mass, improved operating reliability of generator due to dispensing with braking segment (or braking disk) on its rotor. 2 cl, 1 dwg
