FIELD: foundry engineering. SUBSTANCE: mould face layer adjoining pattern is applied from filling suspension in acid water solution SAA (surface active agent) or in acid water organic solution. Inorganic acids and SAA of anionic or nonionic class are used to acidify water solution. Organic solvent is introduced into suspension in case ingot surfaces of super high quality are required or to shorten period of facing layer drying. This layer is dried for at least 5 minutes without preliminary sprinkling fireproof material. Then this layer is coated with another suspension layer of fireproof material and dried. Following layers also are formed of suspension with ethyl silicate binder or be means of alternating layers of ethyl silicate binder suspension with layers of suspension for facing layer. Such method of manufacturing multilayer moulds improves ingot surface quality due to elimination of such defects as ball-type and worm-type ribs. Besides it enhances mould resistance.
