Reagent 2: an excess of ethanol amine is heated at 110-125 C for 6.5-1.5 hours and bubbled into a nitrogen reaction mixture; the ethanol urea thus formed is recovered and treated with acetyl acetone and hydrochloric acid in isopropanol; the resulting crystalline product is recovered in the form of chlorohydrate or a base by treatment of a chloroform solution of chlorohydrate with an alkali agent.
