SUBSTANCE: blanking dies of high-chromium die steels are subjected to nitriding in glow discharge with combined heating at pressure of 2-3 mm Hg, temperature of working edge of 430-480 C, ion current density of 0,3 mА/сm2, and duration of 2-4 h. Additional heating in vacuum or nitrogen-containing atmosphere is conducted directly after nitriding at temperature higher than that during nitriding but not exceeding temperature of material loss of strength.
