FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: melting unit has two melting furnaces which are combined being adjacent to each other and operating alternatively. Flue gases formed in course of metal melting are introduced into the other melting furnace to preliminarily heat charge loaded in it. Each melting furnace has charge shaft receiver into which initial material is loaded. Flue gases from furnace being under melting conditions are discharged through its shaft receiver after charging the other furnace and supplied to the latter through its roof and discharged through charge receiver. EFFECT: provided preliminary heating of charge during the entire melting operation with simultaneous filtering of flue gases during their passage through charge. 18 cl, 3 dwg
