FIELD: metallurgy, namely constructional members of electric arc furnace and basket for charging it.
SUBSTANCE: charging apparatus of electric arc furnace includes at least two self-carrying charging baskets arranged over top part with possibility of their removing from said position and having inner space closed at lower side of charging basket by means of attachment holding charge and providing possibility for gas passing through it. Furnace is provided with apparatus for changing and positioning self-carrying charging baskets. Charging basket has lateral walls and attachment for holding charge mounted with possibility of rotation by means of actuating organ for closing and opening inner space of charging basket at lower side. Said attachment includes large number of pins; several pins are mounted with possibility of rotation in shafts provided in lower portion of said lateral walls. Invention provides free space in upper portion of top part where it is possible to act upon exhaust gases due to supplying coal dust and(or) oxygen and it allows not to cool attachment for holding charge and not to use carrying structure and water-cooling system for furnace shaft that is why charging baskets may be placed nearer to electrodes.
EFFECT: improved design of charging basket and metallurgical furnace.
