FIELD: test technique. SUBSTANCE: test facility has appliance for creating alternating torque made as gear transmission whose driving gears 3 and 4 are kinematically linked with drive 2, have teeth on part of circumference, and are engageable with driven gear 9 in turn, shaft 10 of driven gear 9 coupled via frames 13 and 19 and concurrently via torsion spring 25 to active grip 24, appliance for creating alternating axial load made as two bushes 30 and 31 forming, together with shaft 10, two screw pairs engageable though force springs 32 and 33 and links 11 and 12 with passive grip 26, as well as screw presses 35 and 29 with springs used to create separate axial force on specimen thereby enabling change of axial load value and asymmetry on specimen. Load alternation on specimen, when drive 2 is running, provides for alternate engagement of transmission through part of teeth of driving gears 3 and 4 followed by load breaking after gears disengage driven gear 9. EFFECT: improved test accuracy due to elimination of moment of frictional forces opposing specimen torsion; enlarged functional capabilities due to provision for testing not only at unidirectional torsion with axial force but also at alternating torsion and not only at permanently compressing force but also at elongation. 2 dwg
