FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: gravity-flow metering tank makes it possible to evenly measure liquids injected into fluid or gaseous media independent of mutual mixing of metering liquid and medium. Metering tank consists of closed tanks filled with metered liquid, inlet and outlet branch pipes communicating tank with medium. Outlets of branch pipes are displaced by vertical, one of branch pipes has packing with calibrated hole and outlet end of inlet branch pipe is connected to zone of accumulation of medium coming into tank by means of film hose. Metering tanks work under any ratio of densities of metered liquid and medium. Description of invention gives formula for calculation of productivity of metering tank.
